I'm a massive David Axelrod fan. His influence on modern music is unsurpassed in my opinion.
As a producer and arranger, he's famous for working on some of the most original sounding black records of the 60s and 70s, blending classical "cracker" techniques with the new black sounds of the day.
Here's some songs off an album he did with a white band, but it's not like the Electric Prunes record where he just re-wrote everything after the recording.
I have no idea why this album faded in to obscurity. It's one of the best albums I've ever found... CHECK IT!
