Someone showed me this video over the weekend and I've watched it a few times since. I love the 80s style animation and colours, and the fake toy commercial is pure gold. It reminds me of the early nineties, when every cartoon series had an associated toy collection and marketing campaign. As labels spend more and more on music videos, it's a wonder we don't have more good music videos to watch on Saturday mornings...
Major Lazer : 80s Throwback Animation
I know this video came out in 2009, I'm just slow because I don't watch TV and I don't listen to the radio. I only knew of the Major Lazer album, "Guns Don't Kill People, Lazers Do," because Diplo had something to do with its production. I read that it was their fresh take on the Jamaican Dancehall and Brazilian Baile Funk sound, which didn't grab me at the time.
